Post Arctic

These markers represent an invented infrastructural language. Placed in the lavish gardens around Kykuit* these buoys or trail markers are meant to identify and signal elements in the landscape - a 'choose yourown adventure' signage series - for the purpose of navigation. The are my way of personally navigating climate change. Each one is meant to say: "safe passage; danger, go no further; or visual interest here."

*A Dutch word meaning "lookout or vantage point". Also the name of the John D. Rockefeller mansion with sweeping views of the Hudson River and valley, on the estate at Pocantico Hills, New York.
